Autonomic dysfunction

I have autonomic dysfunction (dysautonomia).  I just had my pre-admissions appointment last Thursday and the hospitalist that I met with is concerned because of some of the medical conditions I have previously been diagnosed with.  I have Raynaud's, vasovagal syncope, hypoglycemia, have low body temperature, and previously suffered from orthostatic hypotension.  She actually wants to put me in the ICU post-op so that I can be closely monitored.  She is affraid that I will be left with no pain management b/c my blood pressure will be so low that I will code if they give me any.  So, she is coming up with a plan for the anesthesiologists for me before, during, and after surgery to keep my BP stable so they can give me pain meds. I'm glad they are being so cautious but also am a little freaked out by how concerning my medical history has made everyone.
