Upper endoscopy today

Today I experienced my first upper endoscopy. It was a piece of cake! I spent more time in pre-op and recovery than I did getting the scope done. I think the scope part really only took 5ish minutes, but I was back there for about 20-30 minutes. Since I am in the process of getting my jaw/TMJ joint back in place they had to be extra careful to not mess with my mouth too much. My TMJ is still dislocated which sucks because I can't open my mouth very wide right now. I had to reschedule my endoscopy once already because of my mouth not opening wide enough for them to perform the scope since they didn't have a bite guard small enough. The doctor told my husband that the scope went well, everything looked fine in there, and he will call me when he gets the biopsy results in. he is having me tested for celiac and h. Pylori. Since all of the tests so far have come up negative for a gluten allergy, I am assuming that the biopsy will come back negative for celiac. I have gone gluten free several times over the past 3 years. I always feel better when i eat gluten free (less stomach pain & issues). So, I think I will stick to a gluten free/paleo-ish diet. The problem is that even when I eat healthy I still suffer from random stomach upset which can vary from mild discomfort to extreme swelling and discomfort. I tend to react to certin foods even though the test results show I don't have an allergy to them. I have environmental and food triggers that cause symptoms almost like an allergic reaction. I guess the next steps for me are to keep eating healthy and talk to the allergist/internist again about Mast cell & mastocytosis. Here are some pics from today.....I look really out of it in one of the pictures! They gave me versed & demerol....helped with my hip and face pain so there were some extra benefits from the drugs. :) Before the endoscopy:
Still confused/waking up:
Ready to get out of there:
