Appointment with Dr. N

The first week of January I was soooo excited that my hip and knee were both behaving!  My pain level was finally at ~3!  I am normally at a 4 when I wake up and as the day goes on, my pain level fluctuates depending on what I have been doing.  A lot of times when I am at work, my pain level will spike up to a 7 after I have been there for a couple of hours.  I cannot take any pain killers while at work so I typically have no pain management during the day.  I do take Aleve but that doesn't do much when my pain gets bad.  I hate taking medicine....I feel like such a wuss.

I went to see my local OS (Dr. N).  I thought my appointment was at 8:30 so we got there at 8:15, only to find out that my appointment was actually scheduled for 3:30...oops!  The girl at the front desk said they could work me in if I wanted to wait.  So we waited and it ended up being about 2 hrs to be seen:/ It's always nice to see Dr. N though.  He spent a lot of time talking to me about my hip and what he thinks I should do.  Dr. N told me that if I were his sister he would tell me not to have surgery.  He brought up how much I have improved since he first saw me and thinks it will take about a year for me to be almost back to normal.  He doesn't think that my hip looks that bad (no arthritis) and is afraid that I would go through the surgery and come out still in pain.  If I would have had a moment when I knew I injured myself he would have felt better recommending the surgery.  Wish I didn't have so many symptoms.  Well, I guess I should say, I wish I wouldn't have ignored all of the signs I noticed throughout my life of having a hip issue.  I tend to just push through and ignore things.  Guess it led to my body having an all out break down :(  We didn't focus too much on my knee.  It has stopped popping out of place and just hurts all the time now.  My next big appointment is with Dr. B on Jan. 24!  I'm hoping he will have more info and a plan for me!
