Can't catch a break

I have been checking out local sports clubs in Cincinnati, specifically looking at their pools.  The 2nd week of February I decided to check out a new one and got a free week trial.  I spent about 20 minutes walking in the pool.  The water was much more choppy than at the other sports clubs I have been to but I continued to walk.  After about 10 minutes I noticed I was having a really hard time walking.  The pool went from 3' deep to 4' deep which added resistance, which I didn't think much about or realize it would be a big issue.  Well lets just say my body was less than thrilled with me. Both hips were on fire and hurt later on that night.  Luckily it only lasted for a couple days.  My left knee, however, got significantly worse.  I have had knee problems for almost 6 months.  I have known since November that I probably had a tear.  I knew the pain I felt in my knee was more severe than just compensation pain.  At this point, I deal with a lot of compensation pain and the pain in my knee is different.  The pain got significantly worse after walking in the pool. The sharp stabbing pain that makes my knee give out has started to happen much more frequently. By Friday of that week I was unable to put much weight on it (if any), could not turn without extreme pain, moving sideways is not possible, and when I walk it feels so unstable like there is nothing holding my knee in place.  I have several braces for it but nothing has really seemed to help. After I got off work my husband and I went to buy a stabilizing knee brace and stopped by Wellington's after hours clinic.  I have been seen about 4 times now for my knee and decided I wanted them to examine me while I was experiencing the symptoms.  The PA for my OS was working and remembered me. He did a quick exam and was able to recreate some of my symptoms by twisting my leg to the left while my legs were dangling off the exam table.  So, I have a suspected meniscus tear in my left knee.  I will be getting a MRI this Wednesday....I am crossing my fingers that there isn't anything else wrong!
